Yesterday, singer Kanika Kapoor, who returned to Lucknow from London on 15th March, tested positive for Covid-19, and is presently kept quarantined, along with her family. Kanika was accused of hiding her travel history, dodging the screening at airport after she landed and partying with hundred-odd people at a lavish Lucknow hotel.
Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor took to Twitter to express his concern but also added a humorous touch to it. “Aaj kal kuch “Kapoor” logon pe time bhaari hai. Darta hoon. Hey Malik raksha karna doosre “Kapoor-on” ki! Koi galat kaam na ho kabhi. Jai Mata Di,” he wrote, also sharing a photo of Kanika.
In another tweet, he also wondered why the concerned hotel did not have any screening facilities. “Think. Chalo Delhi airport se to nikal gayi. Why an establishment like The Taj Lucknow Hotel didn’t have the facility to screen visitors? After all the Taj is a huge name and a property. Surely they could have detected,” he wrote.
An FIR has also been filed against Kanika for her alleged irresponsible act. However, she denied meeting a hundred people or partying after her return.
Kapoor, on the other hand, is not just concerned about the rapid spread of Coronavirus in the country but also expressed his worry over neighbouring country Pakistan’s situation. A day back, on Twitter, he urged Pakistan PM Imran Khan to take necessary precautions, saying Indians were ‘concerned’ about them.
