Bholaa Teaser Launch: Ajay Devgn hopes RRR secures maximum nominations at Oscars 2023: ‘Keeping my fingers crossed’

Actor-filmmaker Ajay Devgn is kicking off 2023 with the upcoming action-drama Bholaa. The Hindi remake of Kaithi has been styled as the story of a one-man army, set in one night, fighting a multitude of enemies in various forms, human and otherwise. The makers launched the second teaser in Mumbai on Tuesday. At the event, the actor spoke about RRR, which has the buzz to bag Oscar nominations.

Ajay Devgn, who made a special appearance in SS Rajamouli’s RRR, said that he hopes the film secures maximum nominations. Ajay said, “Rajamouli has taken the film internationally. Today James Cameron and everyone is talking about it. We all feel proud. It’s a great feeling. Am keeping my fingers crossed for the Oscars. I hope it gets maximum nominations.”

RRR’s song ‘Naatu Naatu’ picturised on Ram Charan and Jr. NTR has been shortlisted for the Best Original Song category. For unversed, the makers of RRR had submitted the film in 15 categories for consideration for the Oscars 2023. The categories include Best Motion Picture, Best Director (S.S. Rajamouli), Best Actor for Ram Charan and Jr. NTR, Best Supporting Actor (Ajay Devgn), Best Supporting Actress (Alia Bhatt), Best Original Song for ‘Naatu Naatu’, Best Original Screenplay (S.S. Rajamouli, V. Vijayendra Prasad, Sai Madhav Burra), Best Original Score (M.M. Keeravaani), Best Film Editing (Sreekar Prasad), Best Sound, Best Cinematography, Best Production Design, Best Costume Design, Best Makeup and Hairstyling, and Best Visual Effects.

Meanwhile, Bholaa is the Hindi remake of the Tamil blockbuster Kaithi. The film released in 2019 which was an action thriller directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film was headlined by Karthi alongside Narain and Dheena. It is produced by S. R. Prakashbabu and S. R. Prabhu under the banner Dream Warrior Pictures and co-produced by Tiruppur Vivek under the banner Vivekananda Pictures.

Ajay Devgn returns to screens after Drishyam 2 success with Bholaa, which is a story of a father who will fight anyone who comes in the way of his quest to reach his young daughter. The film will release in theatres on March 30, 2023.
