One actress who has consistently been praised for her excellent fashion sense is none other than Deepika Padukone. Although Deepika can pull off extravagant gowns and long trains, she has a soft spot for traditional attire too. She possesses an envious collection of Indian clothing that features the most sought-after styles from the top fashion designers. She never passes up the opportunity to select a saree or a suit set from her exquisite collection. Her most recent images serve as proof.
While attending an event in California, USA, with her actor-husband Ranveer Singh, Deepika charmed us with her radiant smile and a pink and beige embroidered suit set. She posted a series of photos on Monday that showed her conquering California while sporting a traditional outfit. The star wore it to attend a Konkani Association of California (KAOCA) event with Ranveer. Deepika Padukone was invited as Chief Guest to the 10th Edition of the Konkani Sammelan in San Jose. Hosted in the heart of Silicon Valley, the three-day event complete with performances, music shows, seminars, food and works, celebrates the Konkani cultural heritage and an initiative to keep the culture alive across the world. Pink kurta, beige pants, and an embroidered dupatta were the prominent pieces of Deepika’s outfit. While the pants have a flared silhouette, extensively embellished lace embroidery on the hem, and scalloped borders, the kurta has a flowy silhouette, a white polka dot design, long sleeves, a round neckline, and exquisite gold embroidery on the front.
The zari dupatta with gold patti borders and floral applique work was ultimately chosen to be worn on Deepika’s shoulder. She wore a pair of big statement gold jhumkis, and golden pointed toe pumps, a messy hairdo, a dewy base, a nude lip colour, mascara-coated lashes, and flushed cheeks.
Sharing this picture, Deepika wrote, “A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots. Thank you #KAOCA and to the people of my community for your love, warmth and blessings…I couldn’t be more proud…”
Meanwhile, on the work front, Deepika Padukone has some interesting movies in the pipeline. She will soon be seen in Pathaan, Shah Rukh Khan’s much-anticipated comeback movie. Besides, Deepika will also be working on the Indian adaptation of the American comedy-drama The Intern which will also star Amitabh Bachchan in a key role. She has a film called Fighter with Hrithik Roshan and a Pan-India project titled Project K alongside Prabhas.
