Nushrratt Bharuccha starrer Janhit Mein Jaari, based on Indian society taboos, has started some important debates regarding sexual practices. During the trailer launch that was held recently, the actress was referred to as ‘female Ayushmann Khurrana’. The actress also spoke about what an honour it is to be called that.
During the trailer launch, Nushrratt Bharuccha was asked what she would say to people who call her as the ‘female Ayushmann Khurrana’. Smiling, Nushrratt said, “I have done an entire film with Ayush, Dreamgirl, I am sure he has rubbed off and in the right way. What he did, if I could do the same with some public support, then why not! I hope someday some hero says, he is the female Nushrratt Bharuccha.”
For the uninitiated, Dreamgirl which featured Ayushmann Khurrana and Nushrratt Bharuccha in leading roles, it was a very unconventional role. It featured Ayushmann in the role of a cross-gender actor, whose female voice catches the attention of the entire town. Directed by Nirmaan D Singh, the film released on September 13, 2019.
On the other hand, the latest film of Nushrratt Bharuccha titled Janhit Mein Jaari talks about the importance of the use of condoms. It features the actress in the role of a condom endorser who gets shunned for doing the job because she is a woman. Talking about the prejudices and taboos attached to sex and its respective subjects, the film aims to change the perception of people regarding condoms.
In a recent post on Instagram, when the actress tried to continue to promote the film with a few campaign-related film posters, she was trolled on social media with cheap comments. But the actress stood up the bully and shared a video, giving a befitting reply to the trolls and netizens.
