South Korean stars Lee Jong Suk and IU are reportedly seeing each other for four months! Korean tabloid Soompi reported citing Dispatch (a Korean website), that the two stars have been dating each other for around four months. The two met on the set of Inkigayo 10 years ago and romantically bonded over time. The report claimed that the duo spent Christmas together in Nagoya, Japan for three days at a luxury resort.
Lee Jong Suk reportedly planned the trip and also flew IU and her younger brother out to Japan first, arranged a pick-up service for them and then joined them later on. According to sources quoted in the report, the couple’s families are already aware of their relationship.
Dispatch also shared pictures of Lee Jong Suk and IU at the airport on their way to and back from Nagoya. Following such reports, Lee Jong Suk’s agency High Zium Studio responded by stating, “We are currently in the midst of checking whether it’s true.”
Meanwhile, Lee Jong Suk also sparked dating rumors due to his acceptance speech at the 2022 MBC Drama Awards where he expressed his deep and hearty gratitude to an unnamed individual. “After completing my military service, I had a lot of worries, fears, and troubles plaguing me. Lt at that time, there was someone who helped me to find a good direction as a human being and to think positive thoughts,” Lee said.
“There’s something I really wanted to tell that person using this opportunity,” he continued. “I want to tell that person that I’m thankful to them for always being so admirable, that I’ve liked them a lot for a very long time, and that I respect and admire them greatly.”
He further said, “Seeing that person, I very often thought to myself, ‘I should have lived a little more diligently before now,’ or ‘I should have become a better person.’ I spent a lot of time reflecting on my past. I’m going to work harder in the future to become a better person.”
Following the event, fans and netizens speculated that the actor had been referring to his love partner or confessing his love for the person. On December 31, Lee Jong Suk’s agency High Zium Studio responded to the rumors by stating, “He was addressing someone to whom he was personally grateful,” per Soompi.
Speaking of why he didn’t name the said person, his agency remarked, “He simply couldn’t share any specific information out of respect for that person, and he was just expressing his gratitude.”
