MET GALA 2022 BEST DRESSED: Blake Lively, Lizzo, Natasha Poonawalla, NCT’s Johnny Suh, Oscar Isaac create a storm on fashion’s biggest night

In terms of fashion, it’s the most delightful time of the year. The Met Gala, dubbed “fashion’s grandest night,” is upon us. The site for the grand fashion event is the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, where a slew of celebrities walked the red carpet in lavish outfits. The fashion spectacle is best known for how celebrities interpret the night’s theme with their extravagant sartorial choices. This year, the Met Gala theme is In America: An Anthology of Fashion and the dress code is Gilded Glamour. The theme has been set in honour of American contributions to fashion.Met Gala 2022 is being hosted by Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Regina King and Lin-Manuel Miranda.

GIGI HADID

Gigi Hadid made her seventh appearance at the Met Gala in a stunning look that included a wine red tint from head to toe. Her sultry look included red corset jumpsuit by Versace and a voluminous, dramatic puffy quilted cloak in the same colour. Her pointed toe thigh high boots were the perfect complement to her gorgeous ensemble. She used that exact shade of red on her lips and limited the rest of her makeup to a bare minimum. Her hair was pulled back into a sleek bun with a few elegant tendrils styled in it. Her only option for an accessory was a beaded necklace with red gemstones.

BELLA HADID
Bella made her Met Gala debut in 2015 and since then has come a long way. She wore black leather bodysuit with side chains, as well as tulle sleeve gloves, sensual stockings, and a floor-length lace train from Burberry. She even wore a vintage Briony Raymond pearl multistrand necklace around her ankle as a homage to the theme’s vintage glamour.

JOHNNY SUH
Johnny Suhmade his official Met Gala debut wearing a satin number by Peter Do.Johnny rocked an ultra-long satin black tailcoat with silver detailing and a matching suit underneath — sans shirt. For shoes, he rocked Peter Do’s beloved black combat boots, which feature metal rims.

NATASHA POONAWALA
At the Met Gala 2022, Natasha Poonawalla turned heads. The philanthropist and businesswoman Natasha nailed the dress code in a metallic bustier by Schiaparelli, which she teamed with a custom Sabyasachi couture saree and trail. In both arms, the diva wore a massive assemblage of dazzling gems, including bold earrings and stacks of regal bangles. The makeup, which was dipped in nude and gold colours, went nicely with the attire.

VANESSA HUDGENS
Vanessa Hudgens is making made a dazzling and daring fashion’s biggest night. The actress wore a completely sheer Moschino ball gown designed by Jeremy Scott. The see-through design featured embroidery on the bodice, puff sleeves and a high neckline.She also went big on the bling, wearing a diamond cuff bracelet, drop earrings and a number of dazzling rings. She added black open toe platform heels with a Mary jane strap that showed off her white pedicure and had her her pulled and wrapped into a tower bun.

KENDAL JENNER
Kendal Jenner opted for a classic look in a sheer crop top and a black billowing skirt set by Prada, rather than the usual gowns and dresses. She kept her jewellery to a bare minimum, opting for a pair of diamond drop earrings. Her bleached brows, though, made her look even more striking. flowing behind her in beautiful waves with a centre parting and tucked neatly behind her ears.

LIZZO
On the stairs of Met Gala, Lizzo stepped out looking like a Renaissance artwork. The singer wore a trailing gold-embroidered coat, a curve-hugging gown, a piled gold necklace, and her distinctive black razor-sharp nails for an evening of Gilded Glamour. It was also, without a doubt, one of the night’s most on-theme outfits. Lizzo also took her flute on the red carpet, which was a unique addition.

GEMMA CHAN
Gemma Chan flaunted her eccentric sense of style as she arrived for the Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday. The actress chose a black and silver structured dress by Louis Vuitton with a-shaped box-like element to guarantee she stood out from the crowd. Her dress featured a thigh-high split to one side. As she stood outside the hotel, the upper half of her gown was decorated with sequins, which glistened in the light. Kid Cudi made an appearance at the Met Gala once again. He was dressed in a Kenzo fitted suit. Cudi’s ensemble included a vibrant royal-blue monochrome suit with a huge cape moment. NIGO’s latest poppy theme was reinvented in blue to match the rest of the outfit and lined within the caped outerwear. The frilled cuffs of the tuxedo jacket went beyond the sleeves, and there was a slit along the legs to accentuate the massive Chelsea boots.

BLAKE LIVELY
Every year, Blake Lively takes the MET Gala theme very sincerely, and this year is no exception. She was dressed in a rose gold Atelier Versace gown. A fitted corset with stone studded cutaway features was showcased. A huge bow adorned the waist, which was followed by a pink train. Blake finished it off with a pair of pink gloves. She accessorised with green stone dangling earrings and a crown, and her long blonde hair was worn down. But then something unexpected happened. The bow untied and laid over the flowing train in light blue with embellishments of dazzling rose gold in the middle of the red carpet. Her gloves were also replaced with blue ones that matched. Blake’s bodice was inspired by the Empire State Building, while the drapery, notably the turquoise shade she took on, was inspired by the Statue Of Liberty. Blake’s crown, like the Statue’s, has seven layers. With a stunning gown.

OSCAR ISAAC
Oscar Isaac donned a Thom Browne white and tails fitted dress in 3-ply mohair that was a twist on classic menswear. He wore the dress with black combat boots and a white pocket square.

YAHYA ABDUL MATEENII
YahyaAdbulMatteni donned an embellished Thom Browne jacket with a train and a white waist coat underneath to the Met Gala. His jacket was paired with black pants with cuffs at the hem. He completed his ensemble with a white bow tie, Barrette, and a delicate pendant.

RIZ AHMED
Riz Ahmed put his own spin on the “Gilded Glamour” theme of the 2022 Met Gala. The actor chose to focus on a group that was underrepresented at the time: immigrants. By masquerading as an immigrant labourer, Ahmed highlighted the vast socioeconomic difference that existed at the time. Over a white tank top, he wore an undone navy blue jacket from immigrant designer 4S Designs, with matching loose, drawstring pants tucked into knee-high black leather boots. A beautiful Cartier necklace completed his ensemble.

MEGAN THEE STALLION
Megan Thee Stallion, a 27-year-old rapper, wore a Moschino gown with mesh cut-outs at the waist that was ultra-sexy. Megan was able to show off her toned legs and sky-high heels thanks to a stunning thigh-high cut. Megan’s gown had beaded embroidery on the skirt and a champagne-toned silk lining. Her shoulders were covered in a gold feather shrug that resembled wings, and her bust was covered in glittering gold sequins.

SHAWN MENDES
Shawn chose an ensemble which was in touch with the ‘gilded Glamour’ theme. He wore a navy and burgundy long jacket with raised collars and ornate gold buttons. He later removed it to unveil a dark blue blazer teamed with matching pants and a turtleneck. In the end, Shawn chose black dress shoes, sleek hairdo
