Raid 2: It will take a couple of months for the script to be ready, says producer Abhishek Pathak

Back in 2019, buzz doing the rounds suggested that by last year’s end, Ajay Devgn would begin shooting for Raid 2. A sequel to the 2018’s release Raid starred Ajay Devgn along with Ileana D’Cruz, Saurabh Shukla among others and was directed by Raj Kumar Gupta. Devgn being busy with other film projects but Raid 2, we asked producer Abhishek about the development and he was quick to add, “We are developing the film right now. The earlier buzz was just a rumour.” Ask him if the cast remains the same and he says, “Yes, it is a continuation of the story so the cast remains the same.” Currently, the filmmaker is busy with Khuda Hafiz. Speaking about the film, the producer had earlier said, “It is a romantic thriller based on a front-page news report published in The Times of India in 2007. It is actually the director of the film Faruk Kabir (Allah Ke Banday fame), who had researched the article and came up with the idea. It’s a real-life story based on a couple from Hyderabad.” The film stars Vidyut Jammwal, and has been shot at Uzbekistan.
