Robert Pattinson slams ‘insidious’ body standards; reveals he once tried potato-only diet to lose weight – “I have basically tried every fad you can think of”

The Batman actor Robert Pattinson is calling out the ‘insidious’ body standards or expectations currently prevailing in the society and shared his crazy experiences from the time he went through some wild lengths to achieve that ideal body.

According to People tabloid, in an interview with ES Magazine, the actor shed a light on the pressure involved to look a certain way in and out of Hollywood and said he had never struggled with his own body image, but has “basically tried every fad you can think of, everything except consistency.”

“I once ate nothing but potatoes for two weeks, as a detox,” Pattinson added. “Just boiled potatoes and Himalayan pink salt. Apparently, it’s a cleanse… you definitely lose weight.” He further revealed that he’s gone to some crazy dietary lengths.

“I have basically tried every fad you can think of, everything except consistency,” he shared. “I tried to do keto once. I was like, ‘Oh, there’s a diet where you just eat charcuterie boards and cheese all the time?’ But I didn’t realize that you can’t have beer as it completely defeats the purpose,” he said.

He also mentioned his reluctance to discuss his movie-related training regimen, saying that it’s “quite embarrassing when you get into a pattern of answering questions about your workout because there’ll always be a guy who’s in better shape than you.”

Speaking of his upcoming Bong Joon Ho film Mickey 17, the actor said, “The movie is so crazy, it’s a completely different style of working,” he told the publication. The film will be released on March 29, 2024.
