Robert Pattinson starrer The Batman – Part II sets October 2025 release date

Robert Pattinson and Matt Reeve’s sequel The Batman – Part II has found its release window. The sequel will open in theaters on October 3, 2025. According to Variety, DC Studios co-chairmen and CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran confirmed The Batman Part II release date during a press event on January 30. While Gunn and Safran are developing a new DC Universe, The Batman Part II will remain a standalone property and fall under the newly branded “DC Elseworlds” category.

In addition to the Warner Bros. Sequel, the “DC Elseworlds” category also another much-awaited sequel, Todd Phillips’ Joker: Folie à Deux with Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga, set for October 4, 202; the animated series Teen Titans Go! and a separate Superman movie coming from J.J. Abrams and writer Ta-Nehisi Coates.

A new installment in the Superman franchise, Superman: Legacy, has also set a 2025 theatrical release. Written by Gun, the film will debut in theaters on July 11, 2025. The film will focus on the early days of Superman. Meanwhile, The Batman – Part II will see returning star Robert Pattinson with the director Matt Reeves.

As noted by the outlet, Pattinson and Reeves will continue to explore their iteration of Batman in the “DC Elseworlds” category, while Gunn and Safran will hunt for a new Batman in the DC Universe. The co-heads confirmed that their DC Universe will include a Batman and Robin movie based on “The Brave and the Bold” comics.

On the other hand, Reeves is also gearing up for the production of Collin Farrell spinoff series The Penguin, centered on his Penguin character. The series is set to begin filming next month. As Reeves previously shared, The Penguin will directly tie into the events of The Batman — Part II and lay the foundation for the Bruce Wayne film.

To make sure that his “BatVerse” and the new DC Universe would “support each other” and not clash in terms of storylines, Reeves also stated earlier this month that he was meeting with Gunn.
