Singer Anushka Banerjee strikes perfect chords of devotion in ‘Hey Krishna’

Six months back when Indian Idol fame Singer Anushka Banerjee sat down with fellow composer Anand Mishra to record ‘Hey Krishna’, little did she realize that her rendition of ‘Lord Krishna’ would go viral on social media. Not only is the song the most heard on YouTube, but it is also one of the top trending devotional songs on Instagram reels today.

“We made the bhajan with dubstep beats to give a western feel to it and make it more appealing to the younger generation. It feels very good that the song is today being appreciated by people from across all generations and religions,” said singer Anushka Banerjee, who has become a social media sensation now.

Hailing from Bengal, Anushka released the song in May this year on Splendid Audio’s official YouTube channel. “The year 2020 was a turning point in my singing career. As I was looking forward to it, one fine day while I was at my university, I got a call that I have been selected for Indian Idol Season 12! My Hy hard work paid off and I got selected for each round of auditions. I finally got awarded the famous “Golden Mic,” said the young singer.

Apart from this, her latest sad romantic song ‘Todna Dil’ has become a massive success among fans. According to sources, nowadays the young singer Anushka Banerjee is busy creating multi-mega-budget projects and a handful of her video songs will be released next year in 2023.
