Sonu Sood apologises to Northern Railway after it slams him for travelling on footboard; says he wanted to watch how “lakhs of poor people feel”

Bollywood actor Sonu Sood never leaves an opportunity to enjoy a moment whenever he gets some time from his busy schedule. Being an avid social media user, his fans and followers constantly get an update on his whereabouts. A few weeks back, a video of him, in which he was seen travelling on the footboard of a train, broke the internet. However, it seems the video turned out to be no less than a disappointment for the Northern Railway.

On Wednesday evening, the official Twitter account of Northern Railway re-tweeted the video and wrote that the actor should refrain from this as it might send a “wrong message” to his fans.

“You are a role model for millions of people in the country and the world. Travelling on train steps is dangerous; this type of video may send the wrong message to your fans. Please do not do this! Enjoy a smooth and safe journey,” the tweet read.

On Thursday morning, the Dabangg actor responded to the above tweet and apologised to the Northern Railway. He re-shared the above tweet and wrote, “Apologies just sitting there watching, how would those lakhs of poor people feel whose lives still pass through the train doors. Thank you for this message and for improving the railway system of the country,” in Hindi. The video of Sonu Sood travelling on the footboard was shared on December 13, 2022.

Earlier, the Mumbai Railway Police Commissionerate slammed the Bollywood actor for the same. In a tweet, the government body asked the actor to follow safety guidelines. In a brief tweet, Mumbai Railway Police Commissionerate stated that “travelling on the footboard may be a source of ‘Entertainment’ in movies, not real life.”

Coming to the professional front, the 49-year-old actor was last seen in Akshay Kumar starrer Samrat Prithviraj, which was released on June 3, 2022.
