This is the face mist that helps Disha Patani’s face glow post workout

Fresh off the success of her film Baaghi 2, Disha Patani now has another feather to add to her cap. She will be the brand ambassador for an exclusive collection of three MAC Cosmetics lipsticks—Ruby Woo, Twig and Flat Out Fabulous, which have been some of the makeup brand’s best-selling shades, and has been involved with swatching and picking the colours she will promote. “I’ve been using a lot of Twig by MAC Cosmetics and hence it is also a part of my collection with the brand,” she says. We spoke to Patani about her favourite makeup looks, her famous workout routine, and why she keeps things simple for her skincare.

On Disha Patani’s favourite makeup looks

“I’ve always been a fan of the no-makeup look. For me, getting ready depends on the occasion. During the day, I prefer nude shades with no eye makeup. In the evening, a classic redworks well with Indian and western outfits—you can never go wrong with a red lip. It’s always been a classic look which suits everyone, especially Indian skin tones. You need to just find your right shade of red. The one thing I’ve learnt is to keep it simple, and stick with what you know. But experimenting with a new lipstick colour, for example, can be fun!”

On caring for her skin when she works out

“I keep it simple and practical with my fitness and health too. I maintain a balanced diet, and ensure that I regularly workout and keep myself hydrated at all times. No matter where I’m shooting, I make time to work out—which could be in the form of dancing, kickboxing or a regular gym session. I like experimenting and trying new forms of exercise which suits my body. Also, if I am shooting an action movie, I work on my physical strength and form rather than focusing on cardio. I make it a point to never wear makeup when I work out because it clogs my pores and can cause breakouts. However, I do always use a moisturiser and lip balm to keep my skin hydrated.”

On keeping things simple in the skincare department

“I strongly believe in a fuss-free cleansing, toning, moisturising regime that I practice daily without fail. If it’s easy and it works, I am way more likely to do it. One of my favourite face mists would have to be MAC Cosmetics’s Prep +Prime Fix Plus, which helps to keep my skin hydrated between shoots, for outings, after the gym, everywhere. I especially like to keep it in my gym bag for a quick refresh after a gruelling session.”
