Two Years Of Bepannaah: Here’s why the Harshad Chopda and Jennifer Winget starrer show is unparalleled!

Bepannaah has been one of the most unconventional shows that Indian television had witnessed in a very long time. From a unique script to the stellar star cast, this show had made a special place in the viewers’ hearts for all the right reasons. Even though the show was shut down on an unexpected note, the fans had left no stone unturned to try and save it from going off-air. However, the efforts did not entirely go in vain since the star cast and the show kept winning prestigious awards even a year and a half after the show ended. Today marks two years since the pilot episode of Bepannaah aired and here are a few reasons why the show is as special as it is even today.

The Perfect Casting

With an unmatched chemistry level, Harshad Chopda and Jennifer Winget were like a breath of fresh air when it came to being the lead couple. As mentioned earlier, their chemistry was organic and everything about them just fit perfectly in place. There are no two people better than Harshad and Jennifer who we would rather have as Aditya Hooda and Zoya Siddiqui Hooda. Apart from these two gems, Sehban Azim and Namita Dubey as Yash and Pooja were absolutely killer. The supporting cast only got better as it included Aanchal Goswami, Shehzad Shaikh, Rajesh Khattar, Parineeta Borthakur, and Mallika Nayak.

Character Sketch

While we usually see shows that have a rather flat graph of character sketches for its actors, Bepannaah saw the best graphs possible. Different shades of all the characters were seen and the transition was just gorgeous. As Aditya Hooda, Harshad’s character saw intense hatred for Zoya in the beginning but then he also made sure to keep her safe from troubles. As for Zoya, her character was shown as a naïve and protected small town girl to becoming the best business woman in the city, her determination to make it big was exceptional. Apart from their individual graphs, Aditya and Zoya’s relationship from hatred, to friendship, to marriage was beautifully depicted.

Plot

Giving the television audience a break from the usual saas-bahu drama, the plot of Bepannaah was fresh from the oven. Discussing infidelity along with the consequences and different approaches towards it, Aniruddha Rajderkar and Ameeta Devadigga’s dream project was clearly the need of the hour. With Aniruddha’s direction, the fans easily caught on to the details of the characters and they hold on to it even today. Giving us the iconic AdiYa, they had surely raised the standards high for the Indian television when it comes to new content. The way Aditya and Zoya’s lives were intertwined in the most unexpected ways possible and their journey from there was unusual and had the audiences hooked in no time.

Music

It has been seen in the past that most of the shows have usually songs playing from the film and there are also some shows whose original tracks tend to stay with you for the longest time. Clearly, Bepannaah’s original songs have created a havoc that left us all in awe of them. from the title track ‘Bepannaah’ to their love medley ‘Mere Dil Ko Tere Dil Ki Zarurat Hai’, these two songs are still a constant on our playlists.

As much as we’d love to have a second season for the show with the same cast, we hope that we get a Bepannaah reunion soon! Tell us about your favourite bits from the show in the comments below.
