Actor Abhimanyu Dassani made an unconventional acting debut with Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota. The Vasan Bala film revolving around a guy whose mind is numb to pain displayed Abhimanyu’s range as an actor. While he gears up for his next, Nikamma, with Shirley Sethia and Shilpa Shetty, he has also been nominated in the Best Debut (Male) category at the upcoming 65th Amazon Filmfare Awards, to be held on February 15. Talking about his first ever nomination at Filmfare Awards, the actor told BT, “Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota has about four nominations and I sincerely hope that at least one of us bags an award for the film because it will be for the entire team’s work. It’s been an interesting year since the film came out. I’m very happy that our work is being acknowledged with the best that the year had to offer.” Elaborating on his next, Sabbir Khan’s Nikamma, he said, “Lot’s of work has gone into it and I am excited to show the world that other aspect of me. I’ve changed myself 180 degrees — the body language and my voice have all gone through modulations. I’ve tried something in the commercial cinema space. Let’s hope things work.”
