Box Office: JugJugg Jeeyo regains momentum, Rocketry expected to hold on well, Om finds some traction in the mass belt

JugJugg Jeeyo was the highest collecting film over the weekend gone by as even on Sunday, it not just maintained its lead but also widened the gap further. Since it is a family entertainer with a much wider audience for itself, and then is also bringing the most moolah at upscale multiplexes where the ticket prices are the highest, the returns are better too. The collections are trickling in from across the country, though the best performing region stays on to be Delhi NCR, which is on the expected lines. So far, total for the film stands at 67.54 crores and if it managed to cross Rs. 75 crores before close of the second week, it would be a good result.

In fact, Delhi NCR is bringing in the best numbers all over when compared to rest of the country since even Rocketry is finding some good traction at major multiplexes here. Madhavan’s film had grown over the weekend and currently stands at Rs. 3.67 crores, though its merits warrant a much higher number. It was expected that the film’s collections would end up doubling and then trebling by Sunday. However, the growth has been decent at best, and all eyes are now how it sustains in weekdays to follow, as the collections need to be similar to Friday at least.

Om is finding traction primarily at certain pockets of the mass belt and that too at the single screens. It was apparent at the promo stage itself that the film would be primarily catering to that market segment that had stepped in for Antim – The Final Truth. That film had a one film old hero Ayush Sharma in it but then Salman Khan power pushed it to a much higher number. In case of this Ahmed Khan production, it is primarily Aditya Roy Kapur who it pushing through the prospects and with Rs. 5 crores* in so far, one waits to see where it eventually lands.
