Deepika Padukone and Kartik Aaryan’s act at the airport, performing ‘Dheeme Dheeme’, led to speculations that the duo will soon be cast in a film. It would definitely be a fresh pairing for the silver screen and seems like Imtiaz Ali has grabbed the opportunity. According to a report on a news portal, Deepika and Kartik are keen to play Radha and Lord Krisha in Imtiaz’s next offering and since Radha was older to Krishna — Deepika is 34 to Kartik’s 29, the couple’s casting seems apt. Deepika and Kartik have been reportedly warming up on social media and in person, to create a buzz about their chemistry ahead of their onscreen collaboration.
In 2018, the filmmaker had announced that he is all set to call the shots for a film that will immortalize the love story of Radha and Lord Krishna. Imtiaz will write, direct and co-produce the film. Speaking to ETimes, the filmmaker had stated, “I have always been fascinated by the eternal love story of Radha and Krishna. In all of Indian folklore, I know of no other story, which is so intensely personal and yet has such an epic scale. It has been my dream to step into the world of Radha-Krishna.”
