South Korean girl group NewJeans, who have made the biggest breakout debut in 2022, has been in news since their album arrived as a surprise on HYBE Labels. The group’s member Hyien will be the new face of luxury French fashion brand Louis Vuitton. Hyien made her debut in a photo shoot for Vogue that was done in association with the luxury goods company Louis Vuitton and featured the idol’s distinctive appearance and her recognisable casual-chic style. Since then, there has been a sort of designer-muse connection with the company.
The rookie 14-year-old idol will be following in the footsteps of her HYBE Labels’ senior group BTS, who previously promoted as global ambassadors for the luxury brand from 2021-2022. The bond between the designer and muse is now fusing beyond campaigns into a more holistic partnership as the company names Hyein as their House Ambassador. In the first photo released by LV, she is shown wearing in a bold, boxy runway statement top. The sharp, sculptural shape of this crop top is emphasized with padded shoulders for an exaggerated silhouette, while thick, shiny lycra underscores the flashy water sports aesthetic of the collection’s graphic jet ski motif. Top has an embossed LV Circle plaque adds an understated seasonal signature to the chest and is fastened with an exposed zipper.
Hyein complemented her top with an elegantly structured, asymmetrical skirt made of linen, which has a deep, rustic feel that subtly contrasts with the sophisticated silhouette. The front is left open for chic layering while the back and sides are given easy volume by draping. A belt fastening with an integrated D-ring gives the outfit a modern finish. She wore a black pair of trousers under her skirt. The tapering shape of the pants lengthens and enhances Hyein’s form. She completed her ensemble with LV flat ankle boots and a waist-cinching LV belt.
Her understated glam choices included a nude lip, faultless matte foundation with a lot of blush, and a neat straight hairstyle with bangs. “We’re beginning a new journey with [Hyein], who is defining the style of NewJeans with her unique charms,” Louis Vuitton said in a statement, as reported by Korean media portal Soompi.
On the work front, NewJeans made their first comeback with new album ‘Ditto’ which dropped earlier this month.
