Malaika Arora reveals how her accident left her traumatised; says, “There was an excessive amount of blood”

Malaika Arora almost had a car accident few days back. The model-turned-actor was hospitalised after suffering injuries, but she has since returned home and resumed work. Malaika, on the other hand, recently said in an interview that, while she is physically healing, her mental condition ‘doesn’t go away completely.’ Malaika also spoke about how the encounter had traumatised her.

On her way back to Mumbai from Pune on April 2, Malaika’s Range Rover was involved in a three-vehicle pile-up in Khopoli, Maharashtra. She was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. She was released from the hospital the next day.

“It’s not something I want to remember,” Malaika said of the incident’s impact. It’s also not something I’m capable of forgetting. Physically, I’m getting better, but emotionally, I’m afraid it won’t go away completely. I occasionally feel flashes that send shivers down my spine while watching a video depicting an accident or showcasing blood. I need to go through the motions and then I’ll be ready to leave.”

Indeed, the performer indicated that she was unsure if she was alive or dead in the immediate aftermath of the catastrophe. “I was stunned,” she went on. [During the crash], my head hurt and all I wanted to know was if I was still alive. There was much too much blood and confusion to understand what was going on. I got a huge jolt, and the rest of the time was a blur until I got to the hospital.” Malaika returned to work earlier this week, posting a snapshot from the set after a two-week hiatus. The actor, on the other hand, remarked that she “was fatigued on the first day of the shoot.”

Malaika and her partner Arjun Kapoor recently attended Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s wedding reception. Last week, Malaika shared an old photo of herself from the United States, in which she can be seen peeking out the window. She also updated her admirers with the photo.

“The last several days and the events that have occurred have been really astounding,” she wrote. In retrospect, it feels more like a scene from a movie than an actual event. Fortunately, I felt immediately after the accident that I was in the care of a slew of guardian angels, whether it was my co-workers, the people who supported me in getting to the hospital, my family who stood by me through this tragedy, or the great medical personnel.”
