Bigg Boss fame Urfi Javed admitted to being sl*t-shamed at a young age. In a recent interview, the actress revealed that she was 15-years-old when a photo of her appeared on a pornographic website, and she was sl*t shamed by her family and the entire community. According to the actress, the incident happened in Lucknow.
Speaking to RJ Anmol and Amrita Rao on their YouTube channel, Couple of Things, Urfi recalled,”I was 15-years-old and living in Lucknow when I wore an off-shoulder top. We didn’t have such things in Lucknow at the time, so I sliced (a T-shirt) and fashioned it myself. I published the photo on Facebook, and it was shared on a porn site.”
“It was nothing more than a tube top,” she said adding, “Numerous people slut shamed me. The entire city, the entire neighborhood, and my immediate family were all in agreement. What were you wearing? It is entirely your fault. Ek toh ladki ho ke tumne ye pehna. And then you had the audacity to post it on Facebook”.
When Amrita and Anmol asked her how she tackled with the situation, she said, “I was at a loss about how to approach it. You are unaware of your strength until it is your only option. It was this or die, and I lacked the fortitude to die.”
Urfi is largely known for her fashion choices, despite her appearances in a few television programs, including Chandra Nandini, Saat Phero Ki Hera Pherie, and Bepannaah, as well as Bigg Boss OTT. She is not hesitant to try new things and confidently walks out in front of the media. Urfi continues to wow social media with his unique clothing, despite being mocked numerous times for them.
