Will Smith and Martin Lawrence officially confirm Bad Boys 4 film

The Bad Boys franchise is officially returning with a new sequel set with returning stars Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. The duo announced that they’ll reunite for the upcoming and untitled fourth film.

According to Variety, Sony Pictures confirmed that the untitled sequel is in early pre-production. Shortly after Bad Boys for Life hit theaters, Sony announced that a fourth Bad Boys film was in development.

On Tuesday, Smith and Lawrence both took to their Instgaram handles to announce that they are reuniting for the upcoming film. “IT’S ABOUT THAT TIME!,” Smith captioned the post.

The video sees Smith driving up to Lawrence’s home saying, “Yo, I’ve got an announcement. Y’all better stop scrolling.” As a hint, Smith then starts playing the opening bars of “Shake Ya Tailfeather,” the song from the 2003 Bad Boys II. “I wish I was you, not knowing what I’m about to show me.”

As he reaches Lawrence’s home, the duo announce that the fourth film is officially happening. “It’s about that time!” Lawrence yells. “It’s official, y’all,” Smith says in the shared video. “Bad Boys for life, baby! For life!” Lawrence then stated, “But we did For Life… but, it’s still Bad Boys for life!” Smith chimed in saying, “We shouldn’t have called it that, though. But, this is Bad Boys 4, it’s official.”

The untitled Bad Boys sequel will be helmed by returning directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, who also directed Bad Boys For Life. The script comes from Chris Bremner who wrote the screenplay for the 2020 film.

Jerry Bruckheimer, Will Smith for Westbrook, Doug Belgrad and Chad Oman are set to produce with Martin Lawrence, James Lassiter, Mike Stenson, Barry Waldman and Jon Mone serving as executive producers.
